Oven-Baked Cilantro Lemon Pepper Wings

pinit

I live in Atlanta and buffalo wings are infamous here.  Well,  any type of flavored wing ding you can think of are extremely popular in this city.  In my opinion, lemon pepper and buffalo wings may be the most popular flavors.  I personally love, buffalo sauce with lemon pepper sprinkles,  at American Deli, we refer to that flavor as, “Hot Lemon Pepper.”  My Oven Baked Cilantro Lemon Pepper Wings pays homage to Atlanta but gives you my own personal spin.

What’s in the Sauce?

The sauce is loaded with cilantro.  I know the taste of cilantro can be tricky, people either love it or hate it.  Something I hear frequently is, Cilantro tastes like soap.  I honestly don’t get the soap taste comment, but whatever. My point, if you love cilantro, you will absolutely love these Oven Baked Cilantro Lemon Pepper wings.  The sauce recipe also includes garlic, fresh lemon juice, ground chili powder, and lemon pepper seasoning!

How to Cook the Cilantro Lemon Pepper wings?

In a mixing bowl add wings and seasonings: Chili Powder, Sea Salt, Black Pepper, and Lemon Pepper Seasoning. Massage seasoning into wings, make sure each wing is covered. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Drizzle baking pan or wire rack with oil. Line wings on baking pan or wire rack; Leave a little space between each piece. Bake in the oven at 450 degrees for 40min flip wings at the 20min mark. These wings are baked to perfection.

Pairing and Meal Prep

French Fries pair the best with these Cilantro Lemon Pepper Wings.  But, you can also eat them with a salad, a side of steamed or roasted vegetables, or even a baked potato.  Its wings, so that means you have many options – #versatility. These wings are perfect for meal prep.  Bake a ton and store them in an airtight container.  They last for 5 or so days.
