My Pesto Tomato Basil Spaghetti recipe should win some type of award. I don’t want to toot my own horn, but it’s INCREDIBLE. The Pest Basil Sauce combined with the tomato basil pasta sauce really enhances the flavors.
Tips To Make This Recipe
I wanted to make this Spaghetti dish a little more healthy. So, I swapped the ground beef for ground turkey. I also substituted traditional pasta noodles with Vegetable pasta noodles. You can’t tell the difference, but please, use whatever pasta noodles you like. Pesto Tomato Basil Spaghetti is loaded with garlic, onions, bell peppers, parsley, and spices. It’s really chunky and the thin slices of vegetables give this dish more texture. I recommend using Mezzetta Tomato Basil Sauce. It’s honestly so good. You can use any brand of Pesto Basil sauce you want. The flavor won’t change much.
Can You Meal Prep?
You can most definitely meal prep this recipe. Spaghetti is one of the easiest dishes to meal prep and it lasts in the refrigerator for about 4 days.
This is definitely an amazing recipe to add to a cookout, Fish Fry, or any other gathering. You can also eat it for dinner with the family. Top it with fresh parmesan cheese, and add a little garlic bread to the side if your heart o desires.

Instructions
-
Prep Vegetables and add all seasonings into one bowl and set to the side.
-
Season a large Saucepan on Medium heat with a little olive oil, 1 clove of garlic, and 1/2 diced shallots. Let cook for about 30 seconds, and then add Ground Turkey. Allow Ground Turkey to cook for 30 seconds while chopping it with a spatula, and then add in seasoning mixture. Cook and crumble meat until done. Once done, add half the sliced onions, bell pepper, and parsley to the ground turkey mixture. Mix in well and cook until softened about 1 minute longer.
-
Remove ground turkey mixture from the saucepan and set to the side. In the same saucepan, add a little more garlic and shallots and toss around. Then add the tomato basil sauce, the pesto basil sauce, and the chili paste. Mix well! Next, add the remaining vegetables and garlic and mix well until softened. Lastly, add in the ground turkey mixture. Combine everything together and reduce heat to low and let simmer.
-
While Simmer, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add in Pasta noodles and let cook for 7-9 minutes. Drain pasta noodles and mix in with the sauce.
-
Garnish with extra parsley, parmesan cheese, and serve with garlic bread. Enjoy
As a person who’s not a fan of spaghetti, this is so good! My boyfriend likes it so I made it for dinner one night, even though I was a bit skeptical of the basil pesto mixed with the chili sauce the spaghetti had such great flavor! I found myself going back for seconds, and actually having leftovers (which – crazy enough – I don’t do too often). Must try!
