Pepper Steak and Rice w/ Video Tutorial

Why not have Pepper Steak? Pepper Steak and Rice have always been a specialty of mines.  It’s comfort food for me and the perfect meal after a long day. The magic for this recipe is in the sauce.  The sauce is tangy, salty, with a hint of spice.  Don’t just take my word for it though, try the recipe for yourself. Pepper Steak and Rice w/ Video Tutorial

Difficulty: Medium Prep Time 15 mins Cook Time 15 mins Total Time 30 mins
Servings: 4

Ingredients

Sauce Mixture

Instructions

  1. Bring two cups of water to a boil in a small pot
  2. Add 1 cup of rice to boiling water and reduce heat; cover with lid
  3. Let rice cook for 20 minutes or until liquid evaporates; fluff with fork
  4. Prep Veggies
  5. Mix seasonings in a small bowl
  6. In a separate small container mix ingredients for sauce together
  7. Heat medium-sized sauté pan on medium heat
  8. Add steak meat and seasoning mix to pan; stir until well mixed
  9. Brown steak meat on medium-high in a medium-sized sauté pan for 5 minutes
  10. Gently mix onions, mushrooms, jalapeños, green and red bell peppers into sauté pan with steak and cook for an additional 5 minutes
  11. Add tomatoes to sauté pan,
  12. Next, add your sauce mix to the pan, mix well, let cook for 2-4 minutes; turn off heat
  13. Add rice to a bowl, and cover with pepper steak mix
